Terms of use

Last updated: September 2026

By using Cradle you agree to these terms. If you run your own copy of Cradle, you are the operator of that copy and should review and adapt these terms (and the privacy page) with your own legal advice before offering it to others.

Cradle is not medical, psychological or professional advice

Cradle provides general information about pregnancy, child development and parenting, generated by an AI model inside a workflow with automated safety checks. It does not know your child, cannot examine anyone, and can be wrong. It is not a substitute for a pediatrician, obstetrician, midwife, family doctor, therapist, or any other qualified professional, and it does not create any professional relationship.

  • In an emergency, call 911 (in the US) or your local emergency number. Do not wait for an answer from Cradle.
  • If you or someone else may be in danger, or you have thoughts of harming yourself or your child, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, US) or your local crisis line now.
  • For pregnancy and postpartum mental health in the US: 1-833-TLC-MAMA (1-833-852-6262).
  • Always follow the advice of your own health care providers over anything Cradle says.

AI output can be wrong

Answers are generated by a language model. Cradle's checks catch some known problems (for example missing emergency referrals, physical punishment, diagnosing a condition) but not all of them. Use your judgment, check anything important with a professional, and do not rely on Cradle for decisions about medication, dosing, diagnosis or treatment.

Sources and affiliation

Cradle's library summarizes and paraphrases ideas from published works by Heidi Murkoff (What to Expect), Janet Lansbury, Dr. Becky Kennedy, Dr. Aliza Pressman, Emily Oster, Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend, Adele Faber and Elaine Mazlish, and Dr. Daniel Siegel and Dr. Tina Payne Bryson, and refers to topics covered by The Doctors Bjorkman, Emma Hubbard, Katie Ferraro and HealthNut Nutrition, among others, with attribution. Cradle is independent and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any of these authors, their publishers, or their organizations (including What to Expect, Good Inside, RIE, ParentData, or the Mount Sinai Parenting Center). All trademarks belong to their owners. Please read and support the original works.

Acceptable use

Use Cradle for its intended purpose. Do not use it to harm a child or anyone else, to attempt to extract or overload the service, to get around an access code or rate limit, or to break the law. The operator may limit or block access to protect the service.

Your content

You keep whatever rights you have in what you write. You are responsible for what you enter, including anything about other people; please do not include names or identifying details you do not need. If you use your own API key, you are responsible for your agreement with that provider.

No warranty; limitation of liability

Cradle is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors and operators of Cradle are not liable for any damages arising from its use or from decisions made based on its output.
